The level 14 slab pour is scheduled for a date on which the forecast ambient high is 94 degrees Fahrenheit with an anticipated evaporation rate of 0.22 pounds per square foot per hour at midday. Specification 03 30 00 paragraph 3.05 requires a written hot weather placement plan where the evaporation rate exceeds 0.2. Confirm whether a plan submitted 48 hours before placement is acceptable, and whether an evaporation retarder alone satisfies the requirement.

A written hot weather placement plan is required for this pour and must be submitted not less than five business days before placement, not 48 hours. An evaporation retarder alone does not satisfy the requirement. The plan shall address concrete temperature at the point of placement, timing of the pour, fogging, and the curing method to be started immediately after finishing.
